General dentistry

Research has proved beyond doubt that when it comes to caring for your teeth and gums, preventive dentistry is the best way of avoiding any potential problems.

Seeing the dentist regularly is an essential part of preventive care. Our dentists will examine your mouth carefully for signs of tooth decay, erosion and changes in the soft tissues including mouth cancer. By seeing them as often as is recommended, they can spot any issues at an early stage.

Our hygienists also play an important role in helping you to maintain a healthy mouth. They can help you avoid problems, particularly those associated with gum disease. The early symptoms of gum disease often go unnoticed, yet in its later stages it can cause teeth to become loose and even fall out.

During your visit they will clean your teeth professionally, removing plaque (a constantly-forming layer of sticky bacteria which causes gum disease) and leaving your teeth fresh and clean. They can also advise you on the best way to care for your teeth and gums, including an effective daily cleaning routine and following a healthy diet.

Caring for children’s teeth is extremely important. Children should have regular examinations from as young as six months. We can spot any potential issues early on, and we can also help to instill good oral healthcare habits which will last for years to come.
